Real Money, Honestly Listed Massage Therapy Scholarships in Texas

Scholarships You Can Apply for Right Now
All three are open to students at TDLR-licensed 500-hour programs like ours. Amounts and deadlines shift year to year, so confirm on the official page before applying.
AMTA Bob King Student Scholarship — $5,000
The American Massage Therapy Association awards $5,000 to students enrolled or admitted in a 500-hour minimum entry-level program (ours qualifies). The application is short: a brief answer to "Why do you want to become a massage therapist?" Cycles run on a rolling basis with a summer deadline of August 31. Apply at AMTA →
ABMP Scholarship Sweepstakes — $5,000 every quarter
Associated Bodywork & Massage Professionals draws one student per quarter for $5,000, plus $5,000 for their school. It's a sweepstakes, not an essay contest: you enter, and you can re-enter every quarter while you're enrolled in a state-approved program. Must be 18+ and a U.S. resident. Enter at ABMP →
MBLExGuide Scholarship — $1,000
MBLExGuide awards $1,000 annually to a currently enrolled U.S. massage student. The application is genuinely useful practice: you build a one-page study guide on a single skeletal muscle (anatomy, palpation, trigger points). Check the current cycle's deadline on their page. Apply at MBLExGuide →
Free while you're at it: AMTA student membership
Students in 500-hour programs qualify for free AMTA student membership: liability coverage options, career resources, and it looks right at home on your first resume. Grab it whether or not you apply for the scholarship. AMTA →
The Honest Financial-Aid Picture
What we offer, what we don't, and why.
❌ What we don't offer
- No federal financial aid or student loans
- No VA benefits at this time
- No inflated "sticker price" to discount from
- Federal aid needs accreditation overhead, and that inflates tuition wherever it exists
✅ How our students actually pay
- Online portion $2,500
- Full 500-hour program $4,500
- Payment plans, pay as you go 0% interest
- Books & supplies (many students own some) ~$580
- Scholarships above stack on top of all of it
Here's the math that matters: many Texas massage programs run $9,000 or more. Even if you win nothing above, our full program at $4,500 costs less than half that. Win one scholarship and you could train for close to free. Full cost breakdown →
Four Tips Before You Apply
1. Verify deadlines on the official page first; they shift every year. 2. Re-enter the ABMP drawing every quarter you're enrolled; most students enter once and forget. 3. Short essays win on specifics, so say what massage therapy will change about your week, not the world. 4. Need proof of enrollment for an application? Ask us and we'll send it same-day.
