TDLR school license MS1040

In Texas, massage schools aren't "accredited" like colleges. The credential that actually matters is a school license from the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, and ours is MS1040. Look us up yourself on the official TDLR license search, or read what TDLR requires of schools on the TDLR massage therapy page.

The state licensing exams we prepare you for

Texas gives graduates two routes to licensure: the Texas State Exam through TDLR's vendor PSI, or the national MBLEx plus a short Texas Jurisprudence Exam. Both are described on TDLR's exam page, and the full path is in our Texas license requirements guide.

Graduates working across Texas

What We Don't Claim

Honesty is a credential too. We are not "accredited": Texas massage schools are licensed by TDLR, not accredited like universities, and anyone telling you otherwise is fudging. We don't offer federal financial aid: we keep tuition at $2,500 to $4,500 with interest-free payment plans instead, and we've gathered real scholarships you can actually apply for. And nobody can offer a 100% online Texas massage license: state law requires in-person hands-on hours, which is exactly why our hybrid program is built the way it is.

Credentials FAQ

Is Texas Massage Academy legit? +
Yes, and you don't have to trust us on that: we hold TDLR school license MS1040, verifiable on the official TDLR license search. We've trained massage therapists in Brownwood since 2011 under the same family ownership.
Is Texas Massage Academy accredited? +
No, and neither is any Texas massage school in the university sense. Texas regulates massage schools through TDLR licensing, not academic accreditation. The credential to check is the TDLR school license, and ours is MS1040.
What does TDLR approval actually mean? +
The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation licenses massage schools, approves their curricula, and audits their hour reporting. Only hours from a TDLR-licensed school count toward the 500 hours Texas requires for licensure. See the full requirements →
What is your exam pass rate? +
Our graduates pass their licensing exams at a 93%+ rate (as of 2026). Texas offers two exam routes, the Texas State Exam through PSI or the MBLEx plus a jurisprudence exam, and our coursework prepares you for either.
Where can I verify your school license? +
Search "Texas Massage Academy" or license number MS1040 on the TDLR license search. It takes about 30 seconds, and we think every prospective student should do it for any school they consider.
