& Fees

No Hidden Fees. Here's Everything.

A lot of schools bury the real cost in line items you don't find out about until you've signed. We don't. Beyond tuition, here is literally everything you'll spend — a small registration fee and the supplies you buy and keep.

That's it. No application fee, no surprise lab fees, no "technology" charges. The supplies — books, linens, and lotion — are yours to keep and reuse in your practice.

Completing Your Hands-On Hours

The Part Texas Requires In Person

Texas only allows the classroom portion to be done online. To get licensed, the hands-on massage hours must be completed in person at a licensed massage school. Here are your two paths:

Path A · Hours elsewhere

Finish hands-on at the school of your choice

Take our $2,500 Online Only coursework, then complete your remaining hands-on hours at any licensed massage school you choose.

$2,000–$4,000+typical, varies by school

Pricing for hands-on hours is set by each school and can run higher depending on where you go. You'll coordinate scheduling and licensing requirements with them directly.

Do everything with us in Brownwood

Skip the coordination. Our $4,500 Full 500-Hour Program bundles your online coursework and your in-person hands-on training and clinicals into one all-in price.

One school, one plan, one price — with supervised clinicals, exam prep, and career support included. Often the simplest and best-value path to your license.

Tuition & Fees FAQ

How much does it cost? +
Online Only (the 231-hour didactic portion) is $2,500. The Full 500-Hour Program — online + hands-on, the complete path to licensure — is $4,500. Interest-free payment plans are available with no hidden fees. Curious how that stacks up? Read how much massage school really costs in Texas.
What's included, and are there extra fees? +
Tuition covers your coursework and instruction. Beyond that there's a one-time $50 registration fee and roughly $530 in supplies you buy yourself — books, linens, and lotion (yours to keep). That's everything; there are no hidden fees. And our grads earn it back fast — see massage therapist salaries in Texas.
Can I just do everything online? +
No. Texas only allows the classroom (didactic) portion to be done online. The hands-on massage hours must be completed in person at a licensed massage school. Our Online Only $2,500 option covers the 231 online hours; you complete your hands-on hours either here in Brownwood or at another licensed school. More on the hybrid timeline: how long massage school takes.
If I do Online Only, what will my hands-on hours cost? +
The $2,500 covers the classroom hours only. To get licensed you still need to complete your remaining hands-on hours in person at a licensed school of your choice, which typically runs $2,000–$4,000 or more depending on the school. Many students choose our Full 500-Hour Program at $4,500 to complete everything with us in one place.
Can I use financial aid or FAFSA? +
No. Texas Massage Academy doesn't qualify for federal financial aid — and most massage schools don't. Instead, we keep training affordable with interest-free payment plans and pay-as-you-go options. We bust more money myths here: Top 5 myths about massage school.
I have a friend who's a massage instructor — can she just teach me? +
No. To count toward your Texas license, your hours have to be completed at a licensed massage school — not through private instruction. TDLR requires your training to come from an approved school.
Do you offer payment plans? +
Yes — interest-free payment plans and pay-as-you-go options with no surprise fees. We'll build a plan that fits your budget.
Is the school TDLR-approved? +
Yes. Texas Massage Academy is approved by the Texas Department of Licensing & Regulation (TDLR), so your hours count toward licensure and you graduate ready to sit for the MBLEx and Texas state exam. New to all this? Start with becoming a licensed massage therapist in Texas.
