Thank you for asking about the differences between our programs at Texas Massage Academy—we get this question all the time! You have two main options. You can attend our school for both online and in-person hours, or you can complete our online program and attend another school for your in-person hours and internship. Both options include 231 hours of online coursework.
Our online program is self-paced, meaning you can complete it at any time and on any device. You are not stuck waiting for daily Zoom meetings from 6 to 10 PM. For example, you can get up at 3 AM and work for a couple of hours if that suits you. Our online program includes games and interactive elements, making it engaging and different from many other programs.
For our in-person classes, we offer two programs. The Core Program is a 500-hour program that includes the 231 hours of online coursework, plus 219 hours of in-person training. During these in-person hours, you will learn hands-on skills, our massage routine, deep tissue techniques, trigger points, and additional services, including spa treatments. The Core Program requires only 50 hours of internship, the state minimum for licensure in Texas.
Our Advanced Program is a 600-hour program. It includes the same 231 hours of online coursework and 219 hours of in-person training as the Core Program, but it requires 150 hours of internship. This extended internship allows you to build your hands-on skills with a wide variety of clients, including regulars, while you are still a student. This gives you the chance to grow your expertise before becoming a licensed professional, when expectations are higher.
Now, let’s talk about costs. Our online-only program has a total tuition of $2,500. The Core Program costs $4,500. The best part? Our Advanced Program is only $2,500! Yes, you get the 231 hours online, 219 hours in-person, and 150 hours of internship for less than the Core Program. We designed the Advanced Program to be affordable so everyone can develop strong hands-on skills before graduating.
